Overview Of The New Macbooks

The macbook and the pro are have finally been redesigned.
As you probably all know by now, they both have a black LED display. They both have new Nvidia graphics cards, which make them both great for video editing etc. The macbook and pro both have a single precision body kit(which means its really strong).
And finally the macbook pro now has a glass trackpad, and it is the whole button.
So are the new macbooks worth it. I know the new technology is very expensive, but here in the UK the entry level macbook is £900 and the entry pro is £1400!
In my opinion i think if you are a bit put off by the price wait till around January(macworld)
as by then the price would have probably been lowered. Apple know that not many people will want to pay so much and so they kept the plastic macbook as a "back up".
So in summary if you really need a new notebook now, then go for it, get the new macbooks now, but if you can, i would suggest you wait.
Check out youtube.com/ki2594 as there will be a pro unboxing.

peace guys max

Apple MacBook Event Keynote! :D

http://events.apple.com.edgesuite.net/0810rtdws876/event/index.html

Apple Event: October 14th 2008 - LIVE COVERAGE

Live Coverage Of The Macbook Event - From Cupertino.

Looks like everyone is getting excited down here in Cupertino.(9.54am)
According to a poll on gizmodo, over 50% of folk think that Jobs will introduce some random software update that no-one cares about... Come on though.... He probably will do! (9.56am)

Currently, Everyone is just getting seated. (9.57am)

An Apple Logo is currently showing on the screen, up there is Phil Schiller (9.59am)
Apple are currently up o.19 in the market, just checked :) (10.01am)

Stevie boy (Steve Jobs) Is currently on stage, explaining about how they have some exciting new products (macbooks!!) (10.02am)
A man called Tim Cook is currently on stage, telling us about how Leopard is far infront of Vista... We know....He's currently bragging :) (10.05am)

Tim is yapping on about how Apple stores are visited or 400,000 times a day, and introducing new customers etc etc. Reminds me so much of Steve Jobs! (10.07am)

Again, explaining about how well they're doing in the market etc.
Pictures will be coming soon folks! (10.09am)

"Macs at major universities -- from 15% to almost 50%" "Many universities requires students have a laptop, we've worked hard to get Mac to be a choice. Tim says.

Apple has 39% unit share for notebooks in education, surpassing Dell.

"Let's talk about notebooks. Before we get into the actual notebooks, we want to talk about discoveries we've made. I'd like to talk about some new ways to build notebooks." Jony Ive is out! (10.13am)

He is explaining about how they build there Macbook Pro's to make them strong, I think this is leading to - well were going to re-design that *claps* am I right?

"Through each stage we're cleaning, collecting, and recycling the material. We started with a 2.5lbs piece of metal and end up with a piece that weighs a quarter of a pound." Jonny says, He is now onto the Macbook Air, explaining again how they pulled it off..... How did they pull it off!

Jobs is back; Nvidia came to talk to them a few months ago about a product that would include the chipset and the graphics processor.

Nvidia GeForce 9400M is the name of the product.

Jobs just introduced Glass Trackpads!

EDIT: Having slight problems with images, will upload whenever possible

NEW MACBOOK PRO DESIGN ANNOUNCED- DAMN THAT THING IS SEXY!

"Slot load super drive, magsafe connector, Ethernet, firewire 800, dual USB, mini display port, we're going to that on all our products, expresscard 34, and the battery indicator is now on the side."

Macbook Air:Next up is the MacBook Air. They’re putting the 9400M into the MBA. 4x faster graphics. They’re upgrading the 120GB HDD (up from 80GB), or a 128GB SSD. Also has a Mini Display port. Kind of obvious the 120GB HDD, the Classic got an update so that means the MBA gets one.

OMG GUYS I NEARLY CHOKED ON MY CHEWING GUM! (LITERALY) THE PICCYS SPEAK 4 THEM SELVES! That display is niiice

New Macbooks! I think I will be buying one, depending on price:

Jobs is now showing a video, time to catch up on some stuff, So far we've had complete re-designs of Macbook (Pro) Just saw some pictures of the back sides etc. prices: $899 for Macbook, and I think it was $1299 for MBP, best bit - THERE SHIPPING TODAY!

Just showing some internal parts.....nothing but wires o.O

Now there talking about the environmental side, you know, the bit we all care about, very, very much? Also, For once, they didn't come out with some random software update - instead it was a random talk no-one cared less about! Also, no news on iLife 09' and iWork 09'! I have a bad feeling this event is going to go on for longer...

Um....it seems there talking about Steves blood pressure - is this going to lead onto - I'm extremely sick, I'm going to quit Apple :S Come on Chris Pirillo take his place!!

Ah..they have moved onto Q & A, there have been a few questions about the HDMI/Blu-Ray - That didn't appear :O Maybe nex... Oh wait, the next revision will be...A long time away :)

Phil tried to stick up for his side, and he mentioned the HD movies in iTunes, which will look great on the new glossy screens.

Its not 11, doesn't seem to be ending :S Will I be here for another hour, half an hour?

A question about the glossyy screens, wont it be messed up? No, reduce the lighting... Well duh?

Q: You've put a lot of work into the new touchpad, do touchscreens not make sense?
A: Steve: so far it hasn't made a lot of sense to us.

Looks like, the event is over! Thanks all for reading, anymore questions, my info is at the bottom, when Apple release a video, we will have a link to it!

Thanks,
George

Daily Tip 1: The Keyboard Shortcut You Never Knew About!

The Keyboard Shortcut You Never Knew About!

Hey guys, so this is the first addition of Daily Tips, So lets get on to it shall we?
Ever wondered why there isn't a keyboard shortcut to shut down your mac, sleep it or restart? I do, it well and truly pains me to drag my heavy mouse to the Apple logo, and click shut down! (not) Also, have you ever looked at that eject button and said, I may as well write on you with permenant marker, USELESS, well you can cross that of the list! now your problems are solved! Hit Control + Eject, and it comes up with a few choices (see image) which are Shutdown, Sleep, Restart, or Cancel. Shutdown is high-lighted, so if you hit enter/return, it will shutdown so, for a quick shutdown it would Control + Eject, then enter/return. Remember this Mac OS X only!

First Thoughts: Sena UltraSlim Case for iPhone 3G

So i stopped at the Apple store today with the dad to exchange our power adapters, which they ended up running out of so we'll have to wait a few days. But my dad recommended getting a pouch type case for my 3G as he's been using the CEO Glide and his LOVED it, so i thought sure. I think some cases give you more scratches from taking it on and off then if you just leave it naked, so i checked out the Sena Ultraslim case, which my dad was awesome enough to buy for me. And so far, i love this thing. Definitely the best thing i've bought for my 3G. It form fits your 3G, so it sort of "breaks in" like leather does obviously, making it a smooth fit for your phone. Heres a few pics for you guys :D

Apple Posts Support Guide for "Late 2008" MacBook's

Kevin Rose drops another Apple Rumor Upon Us

During the live Diggnation recorded yesterday in London, co-host/founder of Digg dropped a
"quality" rumor upon us, stating the new MacBook's WILL have Blu-Ray drives or at least will support blu-ray drives. Others have stated that they believe Apple will bring blu-ray to there next refresh of the notebooks, as it seems Mac OS X 10.5.6 will include blu-ray support, so we should expect a Mac OS X update within the next few weeks as well.

Rose did state that his source for this rumor was not nearly as good as his source for the iPod/iTunes updates.

iPhone 3G coming to Wal-Mart?!

Boy Genius has reported that the iPhone 3G will begin selling the iPhone 3G beginning on November 15th. Wal-Mart would be the second "third party" retailers of the iPhone, the first being Best Buy. The iPhone 3G 8GB is $199 with an AT&T contract, though some people believe that the 8GB will be gone within a few months, as Apple will adopt a 32GB version of there phone, internet, multimedia device.

The smaller Flame is finally (almost here): Firefox Mobile

After a long wait, Firefox Mobile's alpha version will release next week on the Nokia N810 internet tablet. This is the first ever Mozilla mobile browser. A bigger beta, supporting more mobile OS's (including possible Symbian, Win Mobile, Android) is expected to be released early to mid-2009.

PSP 3? No silly, 3000.

Yes folks Sony have released a new, light, slim PSP(3000). The 3000 is virtually the same as its predecessors, but it has a few improvements.

First up is the screen. The new screen has better color reproduction, which basically means better graphics(looks stunning).

The 3000 also has an improved AV output for video and game playback on TVs; built-in Skype(YES BUILT IN SKYPE :)) with a microphone built in.The PSP still has all of the impressive media and online features of the old PSP 2000(and 1000), and a huge library of game titles.Even with these improvements, the annoyances still remain; screen is still a fingerprint magnet; web browser is still the same; UMD load times still are quite slow.

There's probably not enough new features to get you to upgrade, but if you are looking for a PSP you will find the new PSP 3000 a multimedia marvel.

App Store's "Remote" Application Coming to Android.

The handy little iPhone/iPod touch application called "Remote" will be on the new Google Android platform the the Marketplace. The application allows you to use your device as a remote (obviously) controlling the music playing on your iTunes, all through your WiFi connection.

A "native" Facebook Chat app?

I was chatting on Facebook chat today, and thought, is there any applications for facebook chat? The only one i found was Adium which supports Facebook chat. But an easier solution in my opinion is making a "web" app through the phenomenal application named "Fluid".

All you need is Mac OS X, the Fluid application, and a Facebook profile.

-Just open up Fluid and type this into the URL box:

http://facebook.com/presence/popout.php

-Then just name the application, named mine FB Chat. Click create and let it create the application.

-And your done! Just open up the application and it will have the facebook chat already logged in if you are logged in on your browser!

Chat away!

A Storm is coming, but will it hit Cupertino?

What? already Blackberry are making a new phone, but this time its touch screen. The storm is Blackberry's attempt at the, there is even a app store for it.
The Storm features a 3.2 megapixel camera, wireless email, web, browser, gps and of course SMS and MMS.
The Storm has HSDPA (3.5G) which means fast Web access with the full HTML Web browser (although it doesn't support Flash). The Storm also offers dual-mode functionality.
Other connectivity options
include Bluetooth 2.0, with support for stereo Bluetooth headsets, and GPS, but no Wi-Fi. Google Maps is included for basic sat-nav functionality, but for advanced navigation features, like speech you will have to pay for an app like vodafones pay and go.

Built in to the storm is 1GB of storage, however if that doesn't meet your needs, you can purchase a 16GB micro sd card.
In all the Storm is a great phone(being the first touch screen phone RIM has made), however RIM still has a long way to go if they want to compete with the  iPhone 3G.

Peace guys
Max

Confirmed: The Spotlight turns to notebooks

Yes, we finally have confirmation. Apple began sending out invites to the October 14th MacBook event this morning, which will take place in Cupertino. The picture shows a MacBook which does look like its in aluminum. Many of you may have seen the leaked pictures of the casing, and it was reported that the pictures leaked of the casings are all true. So get excited everyone! There will be a blog post on that date summing up what is announced.

I'm pretty Disappointed.

Let me restate that...I'm EXTREMELY disappointed in the Mac vs Pc community. First, its KOST getting nailed and getting his account shut down. And i know Eric aka Emeek77's account wasn't shutdown due to a p.c. fanboy or something, but a damn school?! Shutting him down for giving "free" tutorials that would mess up what they were teaching in there schools? Since when is that not allowed! And I'm sure some people against him were involved. Regardless, Eric made a new account named DeadPicsL and uploaded ALL of his videos back on to that, well i think 2 days after he made it...shutdown. You have got to be kidding me! Why has all this gone as far as it has? And why are we all sitting here and watching it? It really has to stop now, and now i understand why famous youtubers all say that they think about quitting everyday, i never want to get involved in that stuff, and i hopefully never will.

And also another note, this isn't just Pc people attacking, King Microsoft was shutdown as well, obviously due to Mac people flagging videos, etc etc.

I'm sick of it guys, hopefully you all are as well.

The all new T-Mobile G1 with Google releases (kind of)

Yes, Android is officially out on a phone. And today, T-mobile showed it to us.

Whats going on guys, its Kayhan here with the brand new URL for the blog, ki2594.co.nr, compliments of George, aka theimacdude. He made me this URL so its easier for you guys to access my blog as now you don't have to enter that long link :D

Anyways, I just got home from school, and if you follow me on twitter, you know i was in my Debate class, on my iPhone checking live.gizmodo.com for live news on the announcement of the G1. And you guys are all going...wait, YOU HAVE AN iPHONE! Of course, and i love the thing more then any other portable device i've ever used. But i mean, the fact that its Google i think just made me quite interested in this new product. The phone is the one that you may have seen in spy pictures the last few months, however it looks a lot better it seems in actual pictures then in those spy pics. It includes a 3.1MP camera with NO VIDEO RECORDING YET *iPhone users cheer* and a touch screen along with a full QWERTY keyboard and a nice little trackball which reminds me of the one on Blackberry's. The phone will be locked apparently with T-Mobile, though some are reporting after the first 90 days or something it is unlocked to be able to use with other carriers. Also it looks like its in Black and White at the moment, possibly red soon?!

The phone will be $179 with a contract again, on T-Mobile and it will be available in OCTOBER. You can also pre-order it to my knowledge at the moment on the T-Mobile website :D.

Anyways thats just some information on it for you guys. I'll definitely check it out when it releases at my local T-Mobile. And NO NO NO, theres no way i go out and buy it. I love my iPhone 3G and i to be honest, T-Mobile FOR THE HUGE LOSS. lol

Take care everyone, i think the next video will probably just be W&T but we'll see :D Send in links of headlines you want in the episodes and intros as well!!

News: Truck bombing at Pakistan's 'Marriott' Hotel had American citizens?

A truck explosion Saturday killed 53 and wounded at least 260+ in Pakistan's capital, Islamabad at a Marriott hotel. The blast was described by the government on Sunday as an attack on democracy. (NYTimes)

Apparently, there were many american citizens staying in the hotel at the time. The big thing here is, should the U.S government help out the corrupted, ally government of Pakistan? Now its obvious, we've went into countries to fix there problems before, even though it wasn't our business, however with Pakistan being an ally of the U.S, this is a tough decision for our government. Pakistan has said that they want to take care of this themselves. I personally think we here in America need to take care of our plethora of problems first before we even attempt to "catch" terrorists in corrupted countries, such as my falling home country, Pakistan :/

What's your guys thoughts?!

Update on Myself.

Hey guys, Kay here. I'm doing a little bit better today but i really am not in the mood to do a W&T or any video for that matter at the moment. Still feeling that crap feeling when you have a cold :/ But anyways, just wanted to clear somethings up for you guys.

First off, i am NOT moving away from OS X videos and things like that. The timing of when i began making videos was pretty much right around when the iPhone 3G came out, so i've made sure to cover everything iPhone for now. BUT I'm sure to go back to tons of OS X videos and computer videos in general soon. DEFINITELY before October 14th (when the new MacBook's are supposed to be announced/released). So, iPhone videos aside from App reviews will die down, i promise!

ALSO i am not "free loading" off companies, because i know i'll be accused of that. But these 2 companies, Switch Easy LTD and Speck, checked out my channel, talked to me a few times, and then decided hey, we're going to send you a couple of our products, and we would like you to review them. Simple. And just to let you guys know, Capsule Neo=A+, Speck SeeThru MacBook 13"=A+. Those 2 are AWESOME for the Macbook and the iPhone. But anyways, just wanted to make it clear that THEY decided to send the products, and I'm not trying to take advantage of them in anyway.

Aside from that, classes are going great. The high school I'm going to is awesome, the people are awesome, and its just a great environment. And Ramadan is going great as well. I actually didn't fast yesterday or today because i have to take medicine for my cold and stuff, but hopefully will continue tomorrow if i feel better :D.

Anyways guys, thanks for reading, supporting, and watching, Stay subscribed, bookmark this blog if you want more reviews and things like that, this is we're you'll probably find em.

Take care!

Jailbreaking?

I tried it before, and didn't think much of it. But now i have jailbroken and will keep my iPhone 3G jailbroken :D

Simple reasons i did it was customization of pretty much everything, from the keyboard to the "slide to unlock" slider, and for video recording, which now has full audio support too :D

I'm sure to find a lot more out of Cydia and things like that, but seriously, WHY NOT jailbreak? Theres virtually no harm in it, and you still get the App store and things like that, just a little bit more extra to go along :) So if you're debating on whether or not you should jailbreak your iPhone/iPod Touch, i say try it, look into what you can do, and then decide if you want to really keep it jailbroken or just go ahead and restore back to the original firmware.

Personally, i'm loving it, and i'll update how it is in about a month or so!
Hopefully a cool little unboxing tomorrow, and then W&T Episode 4 on tuesday!

EDIT: Sigh, just still too much lag with jail break. It feels like regular 2.0.2 with 2.1 jailbroken. I think i'll wait for the next apple update to jailbreak again, til then my iPhone is restoring :/

BlogTv?!?

Hey guys!

I wanted your opinion on which service is a better overall...well...service?

BlogTv or Ustream?

Blogtv seems intriguing but i don't know if it is less processor intensive than UStream?

PLEASE leave your thoughts and feed back on this post along with the one underneath! :D

Thanks!

W&T: What to Expect

Hey guys, haven't done much lately so thought i'd do a post :D

First off, I hope you guys enjoy the new look of the blog. The icon was made by my good internet friend Todd who also makes youtube videos doing tutorials on photoshop, illustrator, etc. Definitely check him out, VERY talented. His channel is youtube.com/designfusion2 :D If you want your link for you channel or web site here on my blog, aka you want to "sponsor" my blog, you don't have to pay a dime. All you have to do is either think of a great idea(s) for my channel or blog, make a blogger template which i could use on my blog, or just think of a way to possibly get more viewers. If i like your idea, i'll either put an icon of your channel here or i'll make a blog post solely about YOU :).

ANYWAYS as you all know, i do a series called World and Tech, and it's probably my main series so far on my youtube channel. Well with school work and all, i thought i should let you know how i plan to do this weekly series now. I will usually type of the video notes on Sunday's since thats when i have the most time throughout the week. I'll shoot, edit, and upload the videos every Tuesday in between 3-5PM EST. If i have a little bit of time before shooting the video, i'll quickly update my top headlines if anything bigger and better surfaced between Sunday and Tuesday. Once the video is posted, i will embed it here and put the show notes right under the video in a blog post, so its easier to follow along what i'm talking about. Hope this makes the viewing experience better for you guys! Thanks for reading!

Incase Slider Case Review: iPhone 3G

Hey guys, Kay here. So i don't really have time to make a video and upload it right now so i thought id just do a blog post with a review of my newest iPhone case. Now if you've watched all my videos you know that i LOVE(D) the Griffin Wave. Its a great case! But i stopped by in the Apple store over the weekend and spotted the slider case there. I had heard a lot about it and was not gonna pass it up. In my Ustream Rescheduled video i said my iPhone is going to go naked but thats the day i went to the apple store LOL. But i thought i can get good protection and its still thin which is awesome. So I'll post pictures you can see of the case here and i'll just give you my thoughts real quickly.

First off just want to say...the case is not all hype...it is a GREAT case. I have the Black Matte version as you can see and i really love it. It feels awesome and i feel secure with it on. One thing i love about is that it goes in and out of the pocket easily and it DOESN'T get lint caught up in it, which is the problem i had with my gel case from Incipio. But the problem i had with the Griffin Elan Form case (which also slides out from the bottom for docking) is that it didn't have padding within the case so it actually scratched my iPhone from taking off the dock piece. The awesome thing about the Slider is that it has 2 rubber railings EXACTLY where my iPhone actually scratched, so i feel secure taking off the docking part of the case whenever i want. All in all its a nice thin little case that feel's great in your hand or when putting it in and out of your pocket and in my opinion is definitely worth 35 bucks. I really hope this case holds up for a long time cuz i seriously LOVE it. I can tell why Dave aka thecreativeone was so high about this case on his first gen iPhone :D

But yeah guys thats it! I gotta get ready for school  tomorrow sooo PEACE

Do you enjoy photography?

There's 2 things i would love to get into. 1. Video making/editing, 2. Photography.

The first time i had my own camera to take my own photography on a trip was actually just this Summer when we went to Europe on a cruise from Spain to France and Italy. Italy  and France definitely have the best scenery i've seen in my life. Like look at the Coliseum?! Try finding anything like this somewhere here in the states?!

*sigh* Going to Rome made me want to tour the whole world :D

Where should I go next?

iPhone vs. Ultra Portable computers?!

So I was reading back on Adrian's blog just checking to see if he posted anything new, and there was one post i  hadn't read before about the iPhone or the Asus Eee PC. I thought i would give MY thought on that. Adrian said at the end of his post that there isn't a winner and mobile devices and computers will always just compliment each other and not exactly go against each other as far as competition goes. I kind of disagree.

I LOVE the thought of having a really small intel pc where i could virtually take anywhere, not saying i couldn't do that with my MacBook, but its definitely not as convenient. The only thing i would need a pc like that anywhere would be for...the internet! And thanks why i would prefer my iPhone over something like the Asus Eee PC. With the Asus, yes you get a bigger screen, yes you get a real keyboard, and it obviously has WiFi and i can easily get a broadband card for about 60 bucks for unlimited data. But why would i want to pay an extra 60 bucks for 3G on the Asus if i can just use the iPhone's 3G/EDGE/WiFi? Its extremely convenient to have the whole internet on my phone along with YouTube and such if i want to view some videos and such while sitting in the car on a 4 hour drive to Chicago. On top of that i personally am quite fast now with the touch screen keyboard on the iPhone, so i don't really miss this full keyboard I'm typing on as much, especially on the Asus, where the keyboard is scrunched up on the smaller models.

Point is, i would rather just have the internet on the iPhone then carry an Asus with me. I'm pretty sure any time i need desktop quality app's and such i will have my MacBook. For everything....Hello iPhone.
